As the sculptor explains: “My sculpture is an extension of what I do every day of my life, or vice versa, I’m not sure which. Everything I touch seems to turn into sculpture -- the commissioned furniture, the apartments I re-create, my home. All my work is a blend of material and technique, but especially my sculpture, and I love it all – carving in both wood and stone, welding in steel and aluminum, casting in bronze, putting found objects together in unexpected ways, and sometimes with humor.
Site specific sculpture is particularly appealing because I have the opportunity to connect sculpture to the environment where it will live. Also, I’m drawn to pieces that move, mobiles and directional sculpture that the viewer can pivot or reposition. I want it to be fun for them – like it is for me.”
